Solitude

7/25/09

I've found that I really love spending time on my own.

I went out to Northport tonight, just because it is a stunningly beautiful little town.

I just sat down in the grass, and people watched. There was a family with three little girls, and they were having a late night picnic. There was a group of five boys, jumping off the dock into the lake. There were two men, having a chat while one fished. All I could do was just sit back and be thankful that I live where I do.

I mean, come on. I can see Lake Michigan from my porch. My town is beautiful, and everything there is to do is within a ten mile radius of my home. There are plenty of little shops, cafés, and restaurants. Many of these places offer live music on the weekends.

Speaking of my town, we have a film festival that follows the Cherry Fest each year. It was founded by Michael Moore, and it's becoming quite popular! Well, I've decided to volunteer this year, and get some experience in something new. I also thought it would be a really cool thing to do for my town. I think I'll have fun. I even get a t-shirt and a lanyard so I look all official and stuff.

Anyway, just a little update on life - I've been sick, but it's my own fault because I've been eating junk for the last two days. I still don't have a job, and I am starting to lose all hope for that. Lastly, I'm getting fish soon. I'm not sure what to name them, but maybe it will be an easier decision once I actually GET them and know what they will look like.

Hope all is well with you!

Hello to all!

I have been having some VERY busy, stressful, but overall happy few weeks.

We're almost done remodeling my basement living area... so now I have a fully functioning bathroom. It's actually quite pretty. I'm really enjoying it. Now if I could just get everything else back in place.... -_-

Also, I've been getting my sleep schedule back on, which is a big thing for me.. since I used to fall asleep at 5 AM and get up at either 9 AM for class, or on off days... 3 PM. That was an all time low for me. But now I'm comfortably falling asleep anywhere between 11 PM to 1 AM. And getting up at 9! Woo hoo!!

Last night was probably the best night I've had in a LOOOONG time. My friend Maple has an annual Dance Party at her house on Lake Leelanau. In the boat house on the water, in the top area, is where the dancing was held. All different kinds of music was played, from old to new, and from swing music to rap and hip hop. There was swimming in the warmest lake ever, and the sky was perfectly clear, and the stars were GORGEOUS and shining above us as we swam into the night. It was the perfect opportunity to let loose and forget everything.

I'm feeling wonderful right now.

In other news, my town is the cherry capital of the world. My town is also a huge tourist town. Therefore, Summer = HELL. We've got the ultimate Hell week coming up in about a week...

Cherry Festival.

There are going to be a bazillion tourists (Or as we not-so-lovingly call them... Fudgies) wandering around aimlessly in this town. And downtown is where it all happens.... Carnival rides, food, activity tents, concerts, air shows... etc. Good thing I live downtown. UGH.

Anyway.

I hope you all are having a lovely beginning to your summer.

Since I made epic fail of my BEDA blogs, I think I'm going to write a new blog now!

How has everyone been? I'm Okay, I've just been running around a lot lately.

First off, my uncle passed away last Monday. We had been expecting it for the last year or so, so it wasn't a big surprise... just a sad loss. He was very ready to go, and very ready to "go back home" as he liked to call going to heaven =)

He was a real inspiration to me, my uncle. Even though I hardly knew him, the few times I got to see him were a lot of fun. He's stubborn in restaurants, had a love for western boots and bolo ties, and was an avid, hardworking evangelist up until his very last day. I really love him.

In other news, I am eating a lot of chocolate and bread.

How are you?

Current music: Big Machine - Goo Goo Dolls

Much love!
I got Swine Flu, so I probably won't be updating anymore. LOL bye.

lololololololol

HOLY CRAP I'M SUPER AWESOME AT NOT BLOGGING.

Today's music: NOTHING. MY ITUNES IS BROKEN GAHHHHH

TODAY SUCKS.

kbye.

Well This Is Super Lame.

This is what I have to do this week:

Take exams....
And survive.

That's about it.

I apologize in advance if my blogs this coming week are boring or not very long... but I am a college student who is going through the excruciating pain of FINALS. EW.

But to make up for that... I will give you a link to my favorite game! Tetris!

But that won't make up for it completely. And I'm sorry for that!
Goodbye for today. Maybe I will find something better to write about later today =(

This Isn't Karma, Right?

Today I cleaned. A lot. Like A LOT A LOT.

I cleaned my living room, kitchen (Did ALL the dishes... There were a lot), bathroom AND my closet.

Yes, the last one was an LOL at the fact that I just cleared up a lot of emotional friendship issues. Whew!

I was in one of my town's coffee shops today, and I saw this man who was sitting in the corner. He looked about 30, and he had a nice business-type suit on. As he was talking on his cell phone to who I could only assume was his wife, I realized that he seemed to be lying to her.

Wait. I sound like such a snoop. Listening in on someone's conversation.

Oh well.

Anyway, so he was talking kind of shady. He told his wife he would be home a bit late that night, and I'm thinking "Oh no, he's screwing another woman."

Turns out... I was right. Just under a minute later, my old best friend's mother walks in and plants a big one on his mouth.

Dear lord.

That is definitely all for today.

Hello, future BEDA buddy/buddies!!!

Much love!

Best Friends Means....

Yesterday, I sent something extremely important to a friend. Something they gave to me, that I needed to give back.

Where are the friends that I can trust?

Much love.

Michigan state makes me sad

I should be blogging away because state is pissing me off. what an awful game. much love.

Well I THOUGHT I Was Done For Today

First of all -

Where does motivation come from? Inspiration? Pressure? In general, I find I'm not a very motivated person when it comes to a lot of things, things like school, cleaning, exercising, and my overall goals. In my head, I feel very motivated but when it comes to putting my body to the work it all comes out wrong, or not at all. I don't know how to make myself say "Hey, you know, get going! Just do it! You'll feel better!" It just never happens. *dramatic sigh*

Oddly, vacation has been quite stressful. Managing the little money I brought, dealing with bitchy adults, and a lot of flying alone. Then, when we went to Chicago, I was scared we would get into an accident on every corner!!! I could never live there.

Maybe a nice big cup of tea and a disney movie will relieve my stress. Maybe? Yeah. I think so.
I could go for Prince Charming sweeping Cinderella off of her feet. =)

Much love, again!

BEDA #5

Now that I am not on vacation, extremely tired, or without a computer, I can freely blog about anything that I please!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

My name is Kim Walter.
I am 19 years old and I live in Michigan. When you hold up your hand, I live in the base of the pinky finger.
My goal in life is to find permanent happiness and work in a high end fashion company.
I have friends whom I love, and who love me.
My favorite colors are pink and green.
I am an avid MSU fan. (Though I will never have a big enough reason to attend that university.)
I am in love with music. Most kinds. And I will give everything a chance.
Oh, and I really love to read. I am reading 100 books in 2009 and I am on #39.

I enjoy writing and part of me still aspires to write for a living.
I do photography, and I've been told I'm talented at it. But I've lost the passion for it.
I have an addiction to soda pop, Arnie Palmers, and peach diet Snapple.
My favorite animal is the giant panda. I want to see one in real life sometime soon.
I'm a sucker for Harry Potter. It's one of the only things I could talk about for hours. I just get lost in the world of magic!

I'm a junk food junkie, and I have a salt tooth rather than a sweet tooth.
I love my family more than anything in the world.
I'm a nerdfighter.
I am Christian.
I have incredible respect for Jason Mraz. He is a lyrical genius and I would die to see him live. (Mainly because he's better live than he is in the studio.)
I love Gossip Girl. Don't hate me for it.

On to some other things!

I have to go back to classes tomorrow, after a week and a half of GLORIOUS vacation! Is summer here yet?
I need to find a way to schedule my massage this week. There's so much to do.

That made me sound spoiled.

Today's music : After An Afternoon - Jason Mraz

When You're Running On 3 Hours Of Sleep....

... You tend to get dizzy. Very dizzy, Just sayin.

If I had been smart, I would have gone to sleep at a reasonable hour, but instead I poured myself into bed around midnight. I had to wake up at 3:00 AM this morning to get to the Orlando airport on time. FUN FUN FUN. I LOVED IT.

No, but really... an entire day of flying, driving, and walking around huge airports really tears a person down. Currently, I've been awake for about 18 hours. I hate today.

But tomorrow I get to get up at 3:00 AGAIN! MY LIFE IS JUST A PARTY!!!

I actually have to get up super early so that my friend Eric and I can drive down to Chicago to see RENT. Which is kind of our thing now. We do that a lot.

Question: Since Red Bull gives you wings, where do those wing take you? Where would you go?

Much love!

Florida!

Hi everyone!

Since I don't have access to a computer, I asked my dear friend Erin for some help. She created my blog for me. Thanks, Erin!

But since I am in Florida and don't have access to a computer, this will be it for my entry today. Mobile blogging is hard and frustrating.

Much love!

BEDA, Post #1

My name is Kim.
Really.
It is.
I swear.

Actually, I'm not. Kim is in Florida this week and can't post a blog. But because she really wants to do BEDA I'm posting this for her today.
I'm not quite sure what Kim would like me to say, so I shall fill up the rest of this entry with pictures to inspire the future blog posts of all you BEDA bloggers out there!

Maybe you could write a story about this tiger cub?
His name is Tobias and he loves watching baseball.

Another subject could be Henry the Owl.
As you can see, Henry is an incredible dancer, and an avid club-goer.

Harriet could be a great topic as well. She famous world wide as the only award-winning canine Italian chef. This star is never too aloof to give an interview to a blogger in need.

And if all else fails, you can never go wrong with a review of the very talented Jessica the Cheetah's performance in the latest production of Swan Lake.

So, as you can see, there is no reason that you should be at a loss for a topic during BEDA. There are so many things out there to write about.

Good luck to all you BEDA Bloggers!

Hopefully Kim will be back with us soon so that you can read one of her brilliant blogs rather than my substitute ones.

DFTBA!
